Little tomo, LLC is a children’s specialty shop located on Salem Street in quaint and historical downtown Apex, NC that offers new and unique clothing, toys, gifts and accessories for children ages newborn to eight.

The word tomo was invented by our daughter Lucy when she was just 14 months old. Tomo, means “tomato” which also happens to be a favorite vegetable that grows in her grandfather’s garden every summer. We fell in love with our daughter’s word and decided that “little tomo” was the perfect name for our shop.

We (Mark and Diana) are originally Chapel Hill natives and have been living in Apex since 2000, which we now fondly consider our hometown. Diana has always had a passion for working with young children. She earned her masters degree in Child Development in 1998 and for 13 years worked with several reputable state and national early childhood initiatives. Mark has served in health care/retail management work for 17 years with an outstanding track record for providing exemplary and personalized customer service.

In 2004, our beautiful Lucy was born and we proudly became first time parents. With this wonderful change in our lives, we stumbled across the challenge of finding unique, appropriate and high quality merchandise for our own child. We later discovered that there is a world of wonderful products available for young children and parents, however, not always close to home. It was then that we decided to make it our mission to make high quality products available to the friends and families in our own community.

Our vision for little tomo is simple. We believe that every young child is a naturally unique and beautiful little person. We know that encouraging children to express their unique style and natural interest in the world is especially important during their early years. We also believe that families and friends of children should have the option to select preferred, high quality, developmentally appropriate and unique items for children in a welcoming, knowledgeable and customer friendly environment.

We offer a fun and exciting space for little ones to pretend and play while you shop. In our store, you will find a unique collection of quality-made and stylish play and dress wear for children, a variety of baby-friendly bath products, an array of European and US made toys designed for learning and growth, as well as many accessories for both new and experienced parents. Our items make perfect gifts for baby showers, birthdays, holidays, special occasions, or just as a way to let someone know you care.
